My thoughts on the election

After last night's election I had a very clear thought. I didn't "vote for change" yesterday because the government isn't in charge of changing my life, I am. My success in life is not dependent on who is in the White House. God has given me my family to provide for and that doesn't change no matter who our president is or whether I live in a pro-abortion or pro-life state (apparently I live in a pro-abortion state). So my guy didn't win and ideas I believe in got defeated. I will still wake up tomorrow and use the freedom others have fought for me to have to succeed no matter who's running this country. Now if only I could find a way to convince people that an unborn baby becomes a grown up if you give them a chance. Guess that's too hard for people to understand.

Samuel's Dedication Day

Today Sara and I dedicated our son to the Lord. The dedication ceremony symbolized our active dedication of him to Jesus, who we trust will lead Samuel in his decisions all of his days. It also symbolized our commitment, Uncle Steve and Auntie Christa (his godparents) as well as our whole church family at Oak Hills Baptist Church to raise him in the knowledge of Christ's story and great love of Samuel.

Special thanks to the family and friends who came to our church today to join in our dedicating of our son. Thank you as well to Pastor John and Shelly for their leadership and commitment to lead and care for our son.

Sara did a tremendous job making lunches for the family at our house and then we took pictures (quickly b/c it's 89 degrees and feels like 100) and went our separate ways. God is good.
